Senior Vice President at CAC Specialty and co-leader of CAC’s Contingent & Litigation Risk
David specializes in negotiating, placing, and advocating for coverage for Litigation and Contingent Risk Insurance for corporate claimants, defendants, law firms, and finance groups.
With the CAC TL team, David has placed over $3 billion insurance limits in the contingent risk markets on both claimant-side and defense-side contingencies. On the basis of these policies, David and the Contingent Risk team has worked closely with CAC’s financing arm, Dorset Peak, to provide several hundreds of millions of dollars in liquidity.
Prior to joining CAC, David was a Vice President at McGriff, Seibels & Williams where he co-led the firm’s Transactional Insurance Practice. Before his career in insurance, he practiced law, first as a law clerk on the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, and then at King & Spalding LLP, and then with Miller & Martin PLLC where he focused on complex insurance coverage matters, post-acquisition disputes, and civil appeals. David has litigated cases in state and federal courts across the county, including every U.S. federal court of appeals including the US Supreme Court.
David earned his Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in Religion and Environmental Science from Sewanee, The University of the South, and graduated as valedictorian from Vanderbilt University School of Law.
