Damián Vallejo is a partner at Dunning Rievman LLP in New York. He is a dispute resolution attorney with experience in civil and common-law legal systems, and focuses his practice on international investment arbitration, public international law, international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation. He represents companies, states and individuals in investment treaty and international commercial arbitrations conducted under the major international arbitration rules (ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, ICDR, etc.) and advises clients on public international law matters, including the structuring of investments under bilateral and multilateral investment treaties.
Damián also represents clients on commercial disputes before US courts and advises on arbitration-related litigation matters and the enforcement and challenge of domestic and foreign arbitral awards. He also acts as due diligence counsel for companies and institutions involved in litigation and arbitration finance.
Damián currently serves as the Vice President of the New York and Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club and is a member of the Chartered Instituted of Arbitrators (CIArb) and of the European Chinese Arbitrators Association (ECCA). He graduated with Distinction and in the Dean’s List from his LLM in International Legal Studies at Georgetown University Law Center and also holds an LLB and LLM in Business Law from ESADE Law School in Spain. Prior to becoming a partner at Dunning Rievman, Damián worked in the international arbitration groups of Cooley and Chadbourne & Parke in New York.
